mission beach has been my spot in san diego for my entire life pretty much. fillipis has the best italian food you'll ever eat. la playa taco shop is pretty freakin tasty mexican food. i usually just bbq down there. mission beach used to be great during the summer and spring to party, but since last year when they stopped letting people drink on the beach, its died down.

thats the only area i really know. hope that helps.
