thanks for letting me make the first move, thats real old school of you lol.. um i've been thinking as of late whether i should delete my account, i dont know... i'm usually here just to put my two cents on the threads and just log off.. i'm probably just gonna check the berrics out everyday and thats it... what do you think?
it got really intense because he started writing comments on my page and wrote some more stuff on the thread... but i handle it and for some reason like you said i kinda felt bad for saying the things i said.. but he shouldnt have been so rude to you... but it was for the best right, because it made us talk to each other.. oh and thanks for adding me as your friend....
yeah i'll try to get on here more often. i did handle that guy well didnt I, so well that he delete his whole account.... but i'm sure you could of taken him down yourself...
Oh yea lol def. a memorable night, another was the night my boss from pacsun and I went to hang out with Danny Montoya and Danny garcia after the asr in san diego in 2006...straight trashed! lol There was huge shopping center parking lot that I used to skate alot and at night the moon was extremely full lol not too bad a breeze either so it was pretty close to perfect. I honestly don't care what the weather is like, as long as it's not raining tooo much or if there's too much snow on the ground, otherwise the wood stays under me ready for good times :)
I remember when I went walking one day into the rich part of my town, it was slightly raining but it felt very good outside. I was getting zoned out while listening to music and checking out all the big houses and greenery around, and I wind up getting lost deep into that neighborhood. I wound up heading into another city. I had already smoked like two joints prior to this so I was feeling pretty edgy haha but it's a good thing I have a gps on my phone otherwise i wouldve been SOL bc I had walked about 5 miles and had no idea where I was. Still a nice area though lol I go skate the hills alot and the scenes are pretty breathtaking, so when I get the cam I'll post them on here.
I felt the same way before I decided to move to san diego. All my friends and family were on the east coast but I then I thought "this is something that alot of people don't get a chance to do..", head off the east coast for that matter. And I'm 100% grateful I chose to go for the time I lived there, changed my life completely! So you wouldn't have to move here, just a visit alone would do you justice enough. And that doesn't go for just ny, that could to anywhere bc I have plans to head to over seas sometime in the near future. Not sure where though, australia, greece, idk somewhere far from here. I just want to explore, take pictures and skate places all over. Too much earth to just stay stagnant in the us lol
lol gracias on the pumpkin! I'll have to try and carve a Girl symbol or something like that then post it on here lol I'm very close to new york, I'm in north new jersey but I'm about 5 mins or less by bus so always hitting up the city. It's alot of fun, very crowded, there's tons of shit to skate and there's just a great view and feeling about everything when skating through the streets. I wouldn't mind moving there, maybe somewhere around greenwich village, very chill area! But the cost for even a studio place is way too much and finding a decent enough job over there to pay the place would make you a very lucky person bc it's tough. I figure I keeping saving and maybe sometime around next spring or so I'd find a roomate and we could go half on a place. Only one can hope lol
haha I hear where you're coming from. I always looked at the word argument as a negative matter bc people tend to use that word whenever something negative comes up, so I just tend to steer away from that lol I look at what we have as a friendly and interesting discussion for the simple fact I don't feel I need to persuade to see things my way, for there's a little bit of your way in me and I feel a little bit of my way in you so all we're doing is discovering how much our ways really don't differ from each other that much lol nothing argumentative about that :D It's all a positive vibe in this thing and I'm truly grateful for that. When shit tends to hit the fan from a discussion gone wrong, which could happen from either end, but if were to happen on my end I simply apologize for I don't ever mean to offend anyone. On the other end, If there the one in the wrong, I let em know, but getting down to their level is definitely a option to steer away from. All violence does is fuck up lives, whether you're the one that won or loss, the damage to a person's soul is never the same...I mean you saw Fight Club lol though that movie is probably one the best films ever made IMO :) So when I get called a hippie and other shit bc I'm literally all about spreading peace and love towards everyone I meet, it's a gimmick or not something I just say..I put that into action everyday, all day! That's the only way to win a war over evil. Some people come in the store having terrible days and I can usually tell, so if I can make this person's day seem a little brighter by helping them find what they need instead of treating them like they could find it themselves and just not give a shit, I think my goal is getting close to getting reached. I'll probably have to hit some store in new york to get a cam, as sketchy as it is buying shit in the city there's nothing like just being there so I guess I'll pick one up since I'll be in the area. Have you ever visited new york before? If not, I hope you get to one day bc the scene and the sights are awesome!
The journey and transition from when we started to where we are now as skaters is def. a remarkable one. The obstacles we as people go through everyday have the ability to destroy or uplift one's life, and us as true skaters have been fortunate enough to find something that makes living worth while. It's a shame that most people will never understand how something as simple as skateboarding can do that, some do which is maad cool! For instance, whenever I'm skating this one spot I'm always at, which a looong, smooth street uptown with very little traffic and a long sidewalk, there's always someone that's watching which bothers me sometimes but not all the time lol they'll say something to me, if I can hear them that is bc I always have my earphones in, that'll usually go like "man, I wish I could ride that thing like you do." lol and they'll be some adult maybe in the mid 30s or beyond, I'm always like you're never too old to start. Just throw on some pads and hit the park, bc a majority are afraid to damage a body part or something. But it doesn't have to be extreme, just cruise around, get a vibe from the board against the gravel and enjoi. There's no age limit in what we do, Cab is pushing god knows how old and STILL ripping! Although he's been in the game for what seems like light years lol but the point is don't let your age cripple from doing something new. John Glenn holds the record for the "oldest" human in space. I think he was like 80 or something so if that doesn't tell you something then I don't know what else does. The reason why I quoted oldest is bc I don't believe any one is too old to do anything if they have a passion and ambition for whatever it is. Too many people bash other people bc of their situations, ages, genders, marital statuses, amount of income and other shit which is wrong. I don't quote the bible alot but the saying "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is stitched with titanium to my heart so to have the gall to bash on someone else bc your life is fucked up makes me not respect them at all, especially if it happens to someone that I know, then there's a real problem! Although I'm not one for negative confrontations at all, but sometimes people aren't sure how to defend themselves in situations and I can't stand to see shit like that, so when there's egotistical skaters that roam the park bumming on little kids or anyone that can barely ollie, it jerks at me quite a bit. I've gotten in plenty of arguments bc of shit like that, but nothing too physical. They either bounced from the park or kept their mouths shut bc they find out in the end how wrong they actually are. Unless of course they're the ones that started the dispute in the first place then I guess they're on their own lol you got the nerve to stand up and talk shit to more experienced skaters then you know what you're getting into before it starts. lol life is something else, I swear! I'm glad you liked the pictures :) They're all from cell phones but I'm working to get a more professional camera bc I'm interested in photography alot. Sometimes I just cruise around and admire everything that surrounds me, whether it be something as big as the sky, the city and the people to something as small as leaves, rocks and insects, and especially things that your mind tends to cause you to view beyond whats it front of you(makes perfect backgrounds lol) and I want to capture it to share it with everyone but I feel I just can't do it the way I want to through a cell. Cams are really expensive though, but it's def. worth the investment.
Well I appreciate the view on skateboarding through a girl's perspective, I know it's gotta be sketchy sometimes feeling like you have to constantly prove yourself in front of dudes that feel as though chicks that skate shouldn't. Its crazy bc there was a time during that whole dogtown/zboys era, there were chicks ripping the concrete waves and even actual waves and of course you had to prove you could rip but it was still all in fun. Today, there's a whole lot of douchebags out here that are in no position to say who should be on board or not. I know some peeps that are opposite of this and I'm sure they wouldn't mind having a girl in the crew if they're was one my previous area down south. I actually skated with this chick that I would meet up with at No-name skatepark in south carolina for awhile, she was a beast on a mini! lol I never knew what happened to her after a few weeks though, just stop coming to the park. It's a shame I didn't have a number or anything to call her bc she was cool as hell. Basically, I don't believe there should be limits within skateboarding, and it sucks that some people tend to feel as though they should set limits for others..."what's your best trick, can you do this, can you do that...", whatever gender you are. I admit that when I see some people skate that give off that "now" skater image, I wonder if they doing it bc it's the "in" thing or if they have a genuine passion for it. I chat with em for a few and then just session it out. Its funny bc I large majority people most likely started skating bc it was the cool thing to do, but later in life found themselves falling in love with it. Not caring who sees them on a board, not caring about the cool "pacsun" gear or any of emotions that came with being a grom in the beginning. Those are the types of people that wind up skating for years and years to come. Their whole style and persona just changes in ways one couldn't imagine, some for the better. One of my best friends told me years ago that skateboarding is truly the gift that keeps on giving, and I didn't fully understand what he meant for I was just starting around that time...but 5or 6 some odd years later, I hold that saying close to me and I spread it as well so if people would stop treating skateboarding like a fucking tool that helps you keep up with the times and start treating it like what it was originally meant for, just for fun, I think douchebag population within skateboarding would decrease. Although there's always going to be those trying to test you to see if you've got what it takes to hang, you won't even thinking about it and just beast the session and leave em with their jaws on the floor bc you're over the fact of trying to impress someone, skateboarding is just something that you like to do :D I honestly have enjoi-ed these conversations we've been having here lately, you're most def. one of the coolest peoples by far I've met on here.
haha That was actually a link to copy and paste into the address bar, they was no direct link so I was kinda bummed out about that, this was the best I could do haha
Thought you might like these...I had a shitty camera on my phone awhile so some of them aren't as exuberant as I wanted them to be, but they're still peaceful :D
I'm lucky to see any girls skating around here lol I'm always happy when I see a girl on a board and not just bc it's popular or whatever, plenty back out in san diego, one of the reasons I miss that place so much lol I was chatting with one of the developers of myberrics the other day and letting him know that it's a great feeling when I can come on here and talk to people that have that same vibe about skateboarding that I do, and alot other things as well. Not too many assholes on here, if there's any it's mainly little kids that try to act the like shit and then get beasted on and that's pretty much a wrap for em logging on here haha its a great feeling to know that something as simple as plank of wood with wheels on it has the kind of affect on one's life such as yourself and others on here. We don't need much in this world to make us happy and it's a shame that the rest of world tries to down talk us all the time. I wish I could relate to more people around my area bc a majority are too caught up in their image and egos, they forget about things like respect towards another individual, pretty sad. Even when I get shit talked by people, i try to reason and talk to them about why they feel a certain towards someone that does something that they love and work hard at, the answer is never a straight one lol I don't think you ever have to worry about not being listened to on here, alot of peoples opinions are def. shared. I wish it could be like that off here, like get a group of people from myberrics and organize some kind of weekend skate session somewhere or something. It would be dope to skate and chill and converse with the lives we tend to have so much in common with on here, only time will tell lol
no problem, we all got our opinions and we have to respect it regardless of whether we agree or disagree. there wasnt any need for the trash that guy said..
Yea I'm more laid back and peaceful and no longer focused on things that shouldn't matter in one's life. Things that people tend to base their entire lives around, materialistic things, celebrities and other peoples opinions..in short, skateboarding has taught me to be an individual., and in the process of becoming one I've met some very dope people that are in the same boat, some of them skate and some of them don't. Some I've met on here which is really cool! We're def. a unique group of people and you know you've met someone with the same feeling after the few seconds of meeting them lol The road is def. a long one my friend, I'm in the process of getting my music out into the world and I know the road is going to be a long one if I want to do it right and not cut corners by selling the soul for the root of evil and losing the reason why I started writing in the first place. You just can't do that, so you gotta plan to endure the long trip bc it will be awesome to be able to look back and see how hard you've work through the good and bad times while you're somewhere relaxing with all your accomplishments in front of you! I hope you this happens for you, as well as anyone I come across :)
