Friends in Small Places

Friends in Small Places So I was thinking about a few things tonight about my past and how it's lead to where I am now and where it might lead me in the future. There is a line at the end of the movie Stand By Me that I never noticed the first few times I watched it. When I was older, I saw the movie again on HBO during one of their "Movie Repeat" marathons (why do we pay for those old movies again)? Anyways, the line was when Gordy was older and he was watching his kids play in the yard and he… Continue

Rediculous....The History of Skateboarding Without Art....

For those of you who have read my blogs....they aren't perfectly written, they jump around and they include run on sentences etc.....I don't want them to be perfect...I just want them to be how I want to write...and express my point the way I want to....I believe blog writing should be free flowing and not be too edited and re-read and corrected to be how your English Teacher would want you to write...The reason I have opened with this is because that's exactly the same way I feel about Skateboa… Continue

Zoo York......at Macy's????

So I bit the bullet and ventured into the Mall tonight to do some Christmas Shopping. I went into Macy's and came across what they might call the "Extreme and Fashionable Section" They were loaded up with Zoo York gear, and DC clothing.........man...I know it's old news but I never would have picked out Zoo York to be sold at Macy's....I mean I'm actually surprised Macy's would even want to sell Zoo York stuff.... I thought Macy's is where you get your fancy new Nautica or Polo over priced crap?… Continue

The Legend of Pancho Deligamo..........................

Old Skull Skateboards wanted to ask if any of you have ever heard of the Legend of Pancho Deligamo? We have heard of this on several occasions and think that we recently spotted him in Rochester, NY. The first sighting of him is believed to have been in 1991 at a Skate Spot somewhere in the State of New York. He came out of nowhere and started skating with all the local skaters and just shredded and ripped the spot like it has never been ripped since....he was amazing...he Skated better than mos… Continue

Positive Skateboardsing..............

I have an Element shirt that I just found in my closet that is at least 15 years old ...before Element blew up and got all Earth, Wind and Fire.......It has a hot girl and the phrase "Positive Skateboarding' on it. That pretty much sums up what Old Skull Skateboards is all about. It's hard as hell to be positive all the time about anything but out of all the past times I've ever been into in my life , Skateboarding has provided the most positives that I can think of...individuality, learning, fr… Continue

Remembering your first Skateshop experience

I am pretty nostalgic.....I can't help it...I was just wondering how many of you remember Samurai Skates? It was the only skateshop in Rochester, NY back in the late 80's....I know...that's pretty weird for you young skaters seeing how skateshops are all over the place these days. Well anyways...when I was 9 back in about 1987 all the kids in my neighborhood were talking about this skateshop in the city that sold all the good stuff....all we were used to was Nash and Veriflex.....the only pro mo… Continue

Do you know how to have fun on your Skateboard?

Sometimes when someone asks you a question, you have to respond with a question right back at them…..If someone asks you in a derogatory way "hey what tricks can YOU do?" …. Try ignoring their question…let your skating do the talking, and ask them "Do you know how to have fun on your Skateboard?" Skateboarding, in my old as dirt opinion.. should always only be about having fun. I don't care what kind of skating you're doing, if you're having fun, you're skating….if you are out there trying to i… Continue
