About Me

I am 32 years old, been skating since I was about 12. I always dreamed of someday going pro, but then I found myself in a career, married, and then 2 kids along the way and now I just skate for fun. Skating is my passion. It's what gets me out of bed in the morning, and what keeps me going when life attacks me from all sides.
Eric Koston has always been my favorite skater from day one and Steve Berra has been right up there as well. The first video I ever saw and the most influential part of my skateboarding history was Feaster's and even though Steve was only 12 years old in the video he was killing it better than most pro's today!
Because I'm neither sponsored or pro and have devoted such a large portion of my life to skateboarding I have gotten to know the different teams and the guys who ride for them quite well over the years. I have to say that the guys on Girl have inspired me the most and I feel like I have a lot in common with those guys and look at skateboarding in general the same way. I have followed Rick and Mike and Eric from day one and they are my type of people and I envy what they have become and what they have done to the skateboarding world thru Girl. I guess that's why I have a Girl OG logo tatoo'd on my shoulder, about 50 wooden Girl "dolls" that I cut and painted and placed on shelves running around my house for decor, have several Girl stickers on my car, only ride Girl boards and rock anything from the Girl family only as far as clothing, shoes, hardware, decks, air freshners, mouse pads, etc. You name it, I've got it! That may sound kind of lame, but every time I see the Girl logo it puts me in a happy place. I've had a pretty hard life the last 2 years or so and skateboarding has helped me to stay positive thru it all.
I've got 2 boys...5 and 7 years old. My 7 year old is just starting to get into skateboaring now. They have both always liked watching me skate and watching videos, etc. but neither of them have ever really enjoyed being on a skateboard until recently so I'm really excited. I always hoped they would get into it, but I'm not the kind of Dad that pushes anything on them. If they weren't into it I would support whatever they were into...so I'm really glad that among several other things, they are into skateboarding now as well:)
I promote skateboarding in any way I can and try to do my part to teach younger (and older) generations how to do new tricks or give them techniques on how to improve their current trick bag and spread the word of skateboarding to those who have no idea what it's really all about.

Anyway, that is a brief insight into me.

Interests

Skateboarding, GOLF, pool, hanging out with my kids, drawing, ping pong, frisbee, snowboarding, rock climbing...pretty much everything really. These are a few of my favorite things!

Favorite Skate Vid(s)

Fully Flaired, Skate More, Yeah Right, The latest Blind Video, A Time to Shine, any of the Girl Videos, Cheese and Crackers...I don't know, there are a lot. These ones are on the top of the list though. I don' t watch just anything. Pretty much I wait on pins and needles for the latest Girl or Chocolate videos to come out, and any Daewon videos or really good Transworld or other videos as long as they have at least one of the skaters that I like. I'm actually pretty picky when it comes to videos.

Favorite Movies

The Bourne movies, Iron Man was good, anything by Guy Ritchie...he is the man! I don't know, I like a lot of movies and that is how I spend the majority of my free time...downloading movies.

Favorite Music

I can never think of bands or names of songs when I want to for some reason! I go into Best Buy or any music store to buy a CD and I can't remember a single CD that I would normally listen to. It's retarded!
Death Cab for Cutie is good, Outcast has always been good, The Killers, The Bravery, The Feeling, Frou Frou, Jack Johnson is pretty good. I can't think of anyone else but that gives you some idea of the shit I listen to. I also listen to some hard shit to get me pumped when I'm feeling like a wuss, I still listen to a little Rap from time to time...I love Rap but it seems like there hasn't been many good Rap music in a few years...or I haven't heard any of it anyway. Really I guess I'm into music with good lyrics and/or great beat. Techno, heavy metal, alternative (whatever that is), all the way to whatever Death Cab for Cutie would be classified as.
