whats more annoying then someone who wears skater cloths, says they can skate, and then when you actually see them skate they can only do a kickflip after 30 tries i mean im not one to judge on skill considering that my best tricks is a sketchy bigspin and a nollie heel but why do all of these people have to act like skaters when they just skate to look "cool"

Well if they can kickflip they must at least be trying to learn. Thats "skater" enough for me.

the skill leval isnt really what im going at im not really talking about someone who goes out everyday and practices but im talking about the kids who hardly skate the only skaters they know are dyrdek and shekler and because they can randomly land kickflips claim that they are sweet skaters i mean im not that good myself my best trick is a nollie varial heel that is kinda sketchy(just learnd it last night) and thats not even that consistent but i still go out everyday and skate for hours trying to get better

but at the same tyme u gota remember. theres ppl who jus kinda do it, nd theres ones that r really COMMITED, DETERMINED, the GO HARD SKATERS!!! not the ones who jus kinda "yea i skate every now nd then". i skate wit the ones that say "im commited!!! i go hard!!! im actually goin for the pros!!!" aaaaaalways remember the difference!

as long as they are trying and skate often, then they arent posers no matter their skill level is. if their are down for the skater cause, then it doesnt matter if they can nollie lazer or pop shuv.

i just hate how people claim they are sweet at skating and they hardly skate

if i see someone in the mall with a pair of DC's or etnies that is either covered in mud, or virtually scrathless. i put a poser stamp on their foreheads

ya thats funny because once i was in vans and some kid walks in wearing skater everything his shoes had one scuff on them and he tells the guy "i need new shoes these ones are to dirty" i just looked at him like what the fuck

yea i always make fun of my friend because even though he skates he wears these nike 6.0s and wene ever he gets aliite dirt on them i tell him he needs to get new ones

i just look at the shoes, those tell EVERYTHING. unless someone is skating a pair for the first time, you should be able to see some scratches and tears and stuff.

and to answer the question, its because whatever is spoon fed through mtv to the majority of teens is instantly accepted as "cool". we weren't cool a few years back cuz no one knew we existed mostly. now with shecks and dyrdek, its suddenly "normal" and "cool" to skate.
give it time and it'll die down and we'll be back to normal

well we all started there. we didnt just step on a skateboard and all of a sudden have kickflips on lock the first day we skated. i used to be that poser, i'll admit it. i was a poser, i skated and wanted to be sponsored, i used to push mongo for the first year i skated. but i grew out of that phase and i skate for fun, not worrying about getting sponsored, and i push regular. i dont wear skate brand clothes. my shirts and pants i skate in are mostly from ross, marshalls, tj maxx, or jc penney, no skate brand clothes. its good that these kids are buying skate brand clothes, giving money to skate companies. otherwise some of these companies might not exist, companies like girl, zero, etnies, volcom, dc, etc. if they bust their ass determined to learn kickflips then that means the do have some passion for skateboarding, otherwise they would just give up and say fuck it. skaters that are good and have been skating for years will sometimes forget that they started out like that, we shouldnt forget. actually if the kids have a good attitude then u should try and teach them, give them some tips, i'm sure u would've loved to have an experienced skater help u out with tips. i had to learn all my shit on my own when i started. so if ur the one now giving back to skateboarding and just hating on kids who just start out skating then ur the poser. being a poser could probably be just a phase like it was for me, just guide the kid and show him what skateboarding really is that way he isnt so much of a poser

were both seeing eye to eye kind of im not really talking about kids who are determined to learn new tricks and stuff but im more talking about kids who claim they are sweet at skating and yet hardly skate and cant really do anytricks(hard or easy) to be honest im not really that good i can do like 10 or 15 tricks consistant but i would still consider my self a skater because i go out every day try and learn new tricks and just have fun doing it and in my opioion anyone else who just skates for fun and for the satisfaction of landing new tricks is a skater just because they love the sport i havnt really thought about how the kids who wear all skater cloths are saporting the sport but now i think about it i kind of thank them for it. but still i do saport kids who are just learning because i know how hard it is to start out learning by your self to
