I always rock shorts. Ive never felt ' unsafe' or afraid to get hurt more falling, just comfortable with more freedom of movement and less hot and sweaty than wearing pants, all the fashion trends can come and go-- I'll still be wearing shorts.

Shorts aren't lame, but I think the turning point of them becoming less common in skating was Tony Hawk's pic where his nutsack was hanging out his shorts. Not sure which trick it was, but it was definitely a "slob air".

I wear shorts all the time while skating..
