From MOM: My son was 9yrs old and I had $120 bucks to spend so we went into Hot Wax in Wilmington that day and checked out some boards. I didnt want to spend alot on his FIRST BOARD. I got a plain deck, home-made...reg poly-ureth. wheels, added some Reds, reg trucks, and put as many stickers on it as I could. He likes it and its fast!
hmmm... it was around '86... Powell-Peralta Tony Hawk wood with hot pink grip, Indy 169s, Cross Bones, German bearings, Ugly Stix, Cell Block risers... from Renee's All Ears record store and skate shop on Melrose. that was a good day. thanks, dad!

Kerry Getz Toy Machine Deck. two different hand me down trucks. Hand me down Spitfire Classics that were so worn and bearings that were shot. Best investment ever.
deck: toy machine
trucks: old ventures like super old
wheels: blank black wheels
bearings: girl golds
griptape: mob
I found the deck and trucks in my grandmas attic..how awesome is that? hahaha
Let me show my age here. Santa Cruz Roskopp, teal green - the one with only one hand ripping out. Tracker ultra-lights with copers, Slime-balls probably like IDK 80's with the full kit. Rails 'lapper' and tail guard... I wish I could get that feeling again. Shit started it all for me. good times.
