Vulcanized has the board feel and the super light weight feel. to em......but cupsoled shoes are for more comfort and protection and balance......depends on what you feel is best....u cant say one is way better than the other if you haven't skated both
Vulc soles are the only thing i skate, i need the board feel and you hardly have to break them in, unlike most cupsoles where by the time you break them in they've ripped or worn out to the point of being thinner than a vulc sole haha. so all in all, vulc breaks in faster and tricks work better, but cupsole does have alot of protection in it, so you sacrifice one thing for another in either shoe.
i skated cupsoles my first 4 pairs and then i got vulcs and liked them better because i could feel my tricks better. cupsoles do last a little longer on average though, but i'd rather skate better than buy new shoes every 4 months instead of every 3 months, saving only like $7 or something.
it depends on what im skating. when i'm out skating stairs and gaps i like the padding of cupsole, but if i'm just skating park or flat bars and ledges i definatly prefer vulcanized shoes

when i started skating vans were the only company that made vulc soles. That was also when circa and dc were probably the biggest skate shoe companies and every kid wanted to wear the same shoes as muska or stevie williams. But i've gotten older and i really dont jump down stuff anymore. Now adays I've come to realize that vulc soles just grip better.
I am not trying to be bias here but vulc has to be the best.
I just get a real good flick when it comes down to vulcs.
The only way ill skate cups is if they are on sale or they are Nikes.
Other than that vulcs look so gnarly when you just switch fliped an 8.
