When I sit down at my computer each day, I consult The Bing for news in the skateboarding world. Today started out the same way...until...*insert loud introductory music here*
...I came eyes-to-screen with the world's most inarticulate, narrow-minded, linguistically inept, most deserving of an old-fashioned beat down, loser of an excuse for a man: Brad Pareso.
How could I NOT click on a link that read: "If You Like To Skateboard, I Hope You Never Have Children"? (That is the name of Pareso's most recent "article" in his column "Nothin But Net" - garbage!)
As a longtime fan of skateboarding (longer than most of you reading this have been alive!), a mother of two skaters, the girlfriend of a professional skater, and friend to hundreds of skaters - young and old, pro or not, good, bad, and otherwise - I was not only completely offended by his article, I was horrified that it made it to print! (Or even on the 'Net!)
Shame on Long Island Press for allowing such hateful (and poorly written) smut to be associated with it's publication. We need to take a stand on this!
Not only was it in poor taste to post a link to a YouTube video of a skater getting injured (which, by the way, I did NOT watch!), I seriously doubt that Tony Hawk appreciates this cretin using his name to make a feeble attempt at demonstrating some iota of knowledge about the skateboarding community (FAIL!), and I could not get past the absolute slaughter of the English language as demonstrated by his poor syntax and atrocious writing style. Journalist? Hardly!
Please send a message to Long Island Press to FIRE Brad Pareso, discontinue his column IMMEDIATELY, and publish an official apology to the MILLIONS of skaters, parents of skaters, and the countless others in support of the entire (and VASTLY LARGE) skateboarding community!
DO NOT CLICK on this link to the dimwit's lame ramblings; I only include to appropriately cover my tail by properly citing the source!: http://www.longislandpress.com/2009/11/09/if-you-like-to-skateboard...
Instead, click on the attached file below that has a copy of the contents of the link above.
You can also look him up on Facebook and Twitter to let him know what you think about his views on you and your friends.
But DO NOT FORGET to contact Long Island Press (
http://www.longislandpress.com/contact/) to express your desire to have them FIRE BRAD PARESO!!
Thank you!
