Switchstance: amazing or redundant?

There are regular tricks, tricks off the front of the board (nollie), and tricks going backwards (fakie). Switch stance tricks are mirror images of regular tricks.

Do you think that makes them awesome, or boring? Anyone prefer certain switch tricks? Because of looks, or because they're easier? Anyone avoid switch at all costs?

Permalink Reply by Tyler Keith Bragg on June 29, 2009 at 2:03am: i have a freind that will only learn a new flip trick switch he wont even try it regular it so stupid he knows basic tricks and inwards, fs shuvs anddbl flips but those are his only advanced tricks in normal stance. he can switch flip but thats it. he thinks he can switch tre but he cant really hes landed a few crappy ones than end witch him rolling backwards and like only 3/4 rotated. and hes always going for the same tricks as me like i learned hardflips, ss heels, varial heels, fs shuvs, and was trying to learn ss hardflips, fs flip/heel, and bs flip/heel and he tried to learn every single one of them he cant do any thing on his own.; ▶ Reply to This

You have your pros that make a video part with a majority of switch tricks and you wonder if they can even do some of them regular... most times they can, but skating switch all the time can get a little redundant. When someone does switch tricks with really good style and ease, thats the icing on the cake my friend. Amazing. Also, there are those tricks that are sometimes easier swtich. ie. switch heel, fs shuv, front heel.. but when you see a cat do a hard trick like back lip, or switch back smith switch you be like dayum.; ▶ Reply to This
