well foot locker just bought up CCS and is trying to take over the skate shoe business.....CNNmoney.com reported today that Foot Locker (FL) is buying Delia’s Corp’s (DLIA) CCS to the tune of $102 million. The deal is expected to close in 60 days.

delia's corp sucked but it's not foot locker you will all be seeing skate shoes there soon who will be the first to sell out???? nike for sure. what do you think?

Converse is making a push into Skateboarding so they will be in the Footlocker. Adidas will be in there. Out of the skate shoe brands, I think Circa will sell out along with Sole Tech. Vans has always kinda been a little out in the mainstream so they will be in there.

Now these dudes need to feed their families the same as anyone. I can't blame them for taking the money that's offered them. I hope that all those who jump on the footlocker tip come out with lines of shoes to be sold a core shops only. That seems like the best compromise to me.

we can only hope

as long as the core, solid skate shoes don't sell out i could care less. when it gets to the point that skating is gonna "die" again, i'm positive jamie thomas is still gonna sell fallens, and mike carroll and rick howard will keep making lakai. adidas and gonz are always gonna be around too. i hope the sole tech companies dont sell out though, they have good heel support....

I dont have as much beef with adidas. They make decent skate shoes, dont market them like a hamster on crack, and seem to be goin in the right direction.

Now nike, that's another story. The only thing keeping them in the industry right now after the few times that failed to enter is sneakerheads. Ask any of your local skateshop and probably 90% of thier sales from nike are from kids that dont skate. And thier shoes just suck. Atleast adidas added a little extra padding and durability when making a skateboarding version of the gazzele. All nike did with the dunks was write "sb" on them.

Plus, nike is already trying to sell us out. Check this ----> http://www.sneakerfiles.com/2008/05/03/air-jordan-flipsyde-flipside...

I agree with you about Adidas. Plus, some of their stuff actually looks good and functional. The Nike crap I've seen is butt-assed ugly.

adidas is a good company and there just doing there own thing. i worked for adidas skate back in 02 and there was just 3 of us there. there was no hard sale it was hey we make cool shoes and gonz helps us out.

hell yeah
i was so excited when I first heard about adidas skate, used to skate regular gazelles and they were amazing, cant wait to get my campus vulcs for christmas.
You can definitely tell the difference between where adidas' priorities lie and nike's just by looking at the shoes.
Most of Nike SB's colorways have been ugly, multicolored, gaudy, and just plain gay, which, I guess, is what is "in" right now. Adidas shoes are just classic and fresh.
Good looking and functional.
